The Malta Basketball Association is extending the call for applications for National Team coaches, issued on 23rd August, till 19th September 2011. The call is open to existing coaches as well as players or ex-players who are planning to move into coaching. The MBA's objectives are :
- Build a pool of coaches to draw from at any given time
- Improve the technical knowledge and coaching skills of tomorrow's coaches
- Contribute to the general improvement of the game at the junior level
The plan is that we will have teams of Under 14s, Under 16s and Under 18s male and female. A foreign head coach will provide a program to all coaches within the National Team setup to follow, for each age group. This will be co-ordinated on the head coach's behalf by a person appointed for this purpose.
